Bourbon Barrel Infused Honey

from $8.00

This is pure, raw, summer honey which has been infused inside a charred American oak bourbon barrel from Minglewood Distilling Co in Wooster, Ohio. The bourbon barrel imparts flavors of caramel, vanilla, oak, and a smoky sweetiness from the charred wood. Try it drizzled over biscuits, toast, as a glaze for salmon, a simple syrup for cocktails or mocktails, or on top of vanilla ice cream.

After we emptied the barrel of honey, it was returned to Minglewood Distilling Co to create a unique aged honey bourbon.

For our Summer honey, the bees have gathered nectar from a variety of wildflowers including Canadian thistle, wild blackberries, and clover. Never pasteurized or high-pressure filtered, it retains all the trace vitamins, minerals, enzymes, flavors and aromas of fresh raw honey. This listing is for an 5 or 10 ounce glass jar.

Honeyrun Farm produces pure, raw honey from Williamsport, Ohio. We harvest our honey seasonally – Spring, Summer, and Fall – to bring out the distinct floral flavors and aromas that are representative of Central Ohio wildflowers. All raw honey (honey fresh from the beehive) will granulate (get cloudy and thick) in time. This is natural, and does not mean the honey has "gone bad", as honey does not spoil. Simply heat the container in a hot pot of water to re-liquify. We recommend not heating it over 100 degrees to prevent the loss of flavor, enzymes, and nutritional benefits.
